Welcome to our webquest looking at Diversity in Australia. As you have been exploring this topic we will now complete a webquest in which you will seek more information about other cultures, traditions and foods.
This is your assessment task for term 1.

Task
You will be completing two tasks for assessment. To do this you will present your information using the powerpoint program.
(Go to your start bar on the desktop-click 'search'-type in 'powerpoint'-select program)
Your heading for this powerpoint will be DIVERSITY: Year 9 English Assignment.
Task ONE:
1. Once you have your first slide completed with your heading on it, select a new slide and complete the following task.
2. Think of a country in the world where you would like to visit or live.
3. Click on the PROCESS TAB to see a MAP of the world.
4. Once you have chosen your country research these things and write about them on your powerpoint:
~ What is this countries National dish? (Make sure you include an image)
~ What is the population of your chosen country?
~ What is the main tourist destination or national icon (what is one place that everyone should visit)? (Make sure you include an image)
E.g. In Australia the Great Barrier Reef is a main feature of Australia and a popular tourist destination.
~ What is the main religion of this country?
~ What is their national sport? (Make sure you include an image)
~ Find an image of their flag and import it onto your powerpoint.
Task TWO:
In Anh Do Does Vietnam, Anh visits Hoi An where he notices lots of people in wedding attire. He explains that couples in Vietnam get their wedding photos done two months before they actually tie the knot. This is said because traditionally this is "the last time you see the groom with a smile on his face".
Different countries have different wedding traditions based on cultural experience and traditions, religion and family expectations.
Your task is to research the wedding traditions and customs of 3 the following countries or cultures:
* Indian
* Chinese
* Western (Australia, U.S.A, U.K)
* German
* Kenyan
* Italian
* Vietnamese
* Scottish
Make sure you include relevant images/pictures in this part!!
~You must put your information onto a powerpoint slide show and email it to your teacher (your teacher will provide it to you).
