Introduction
A rectangular prism is a 3- Dimensional shape which have 6 faces that are rectangular. It has the same cross- section along a length which makes it a prism. It can be called a " Cuboid". A rectangular prism has a rectangle as it's base, and a cube is a rectangular with all it's sides of equal length.
Task
1. A fishpond is positioned in the centre of a rectangular shaped backyard completely covered with grass. If the length of the backyard is 30m and the breadth is 25m. What area of the backyard is covered in grass?
2.1 Jade wants her bathroom in the shape of a rectangle. Calculate the area if it has a length of 60cm and a breadth of 140cm. Covert your final answer to square metres.
2.2 She wants to cover the floor with rectangular tiles with a breadth of 35 cm and a length of 50cm. Calculate how many tiles she will need if the area if the bathtub is 15m^2 and if the toilet pot is 8m^2. Convert your final answer to square metre.
2. 3 Calculate the total costs of the tiles and how many boxes she will need to cover the bathroom if one box has 15 tiles at a price of R188.
