The first bridges ever to be made were made by nature. The first bridges made by humans were probably spans of wooden logs or planks and eventually stones, using a simple support and crossbeam arrangement. The oldest surviving stone bridge in China is the Zhaozhou Bridge, built from 595 to 605 AD during the Sui Dynasty.There are so many bridges and they are all in different shapes, sizes, and design. Over the last 3000 years, engineers and architects have devised many ways of building bridges. The type of engineer builds bridges is Civil Engineer.
