Today's lesson will be based on Measurements.

In the end of the lesson you will be able to:

1. Know what is measurements.

2. Know when to use a specific measurement unit.

Task

-You will be provided with links to vidoes of different measurement units.

-Individually completing a quiz on google classroom by converting after seeing examples, to test if they understand the topic.

-Groups of 5 will be created whereby one in each group respond in a padlet their group responses based on a unit they chose to discuss which they can use in real world.

Process

STEP 1

Watch the measurement video where you get an easy way to convert your units

STEP 2

Examples of how to convert using calculations

STEP 3

Complete the first 10 multiple choice questions on the quiz to test if knowledge was grasped.

STEP 4

Click on the link to the padlet below to give your group responses on what you discussed, also by proving a picture of your example.

*For example think about how measurement units are used in your daily life.  For example,  kilometers (km)  are used when measuring two places or points in other words seeing the distance between one end to another end. This is normally used to measure long distances

Complete the group assessment below in the padlet. Also make sure that your name is on top so that marks can be allocated.

Picture provided  Picture not creative, simple image Picture is somewhat creative The picture is creative acceptable  Picture is very creative, note taking is perfect
Real world explanation of measurements applying to a specific unit Contains a lot of incorrect information  Contains few incorrect  information, note taking is acceptable Explanation has everything that's necessary  Contains outstanding information
Group work  Can not work as a team members are lazy Group is almost good but one or two members do all the work Members work quite well in a team. Almost  everyone does their part Group can communicate well, everyone plays their part
