Introduction
In this activity you are going to explore the different algorithms there are for multiplication. The most common one you know is the standard algorithm, however in this webquest you will learn about so much more! Throughout the task you will test out different multiplication algorithms. Have fun on your quest!
Task
The goal of this activity is to find Two or more of multiplication algorithms other than the standard one. Then write a reflection on what you learned during the process and what mathematical concepts you learned. Also submit what you the algorithms that you found.
Process
-
First you'll form a team of 2-3 people
-
Once you’ve formed your team you will go find what the standard algorithm looks like.
-
Once finding the standard algorithm your team will explore on mathematical websites like maths.com and even youtube for different algorithms for multiplication.
-
After finding the algorithms everyone on your team will write about what you all learned during the activity
-
Submit all of the algorithms

Conclusion
By the end of the web quest you should have learned about 2 different multiplication algorithms other than the standard. By finding the other algorithms you will be able to use other multiplication algorithms in your school life. I hope you had fun learning about different multiplication algorithms and I hope you learn of different algorithms for different operations.
