math: counting to 10

Introduction

Hello My name is Cassidy Defoe 

in the Web Quest i will be doing Math: counting to 10 to show the students how to count to the number 10  and the way i will do that by doing this lesson with my students. I also added in a video to help me show what i am try teach the students. i will also be showing the students the correct way to the numbers  draw the numbers 1-10 , counting to the number in the correct order , drawing that many dots or putting that many objects to represent that number . 

Task

During the lesson the students will be able to 

  • count to the number 10 on their fingers 
  • draw the numbers 1-10 correctly 
  • put the number of objects they need to represent that number 
  • route count to the number 10 in the correct order 
Process

in this process student will learn how to count to 10 

  • route count to 10 
  • count on their fingers to show them what it looks like on their fingers and how many fingers they need to put in order to make the number that they are trying to make. 
  • the next thing i will be showing the students is how many objects they need to put out in order to make that number for example if they are trying to make the number 5 they need to put 5 cubes in front of them in order to represent the number 5. 
  • In the video it shows them how to make the numbers and it also shows them how many objects to be next the number that they are showing them.

Evaluation

I will call the students to the front of the ask them to come up and write a number , if i have more than 10 students i would ask the first ten to write the numbers and the second group of student i would asks them to draw that many dots to the number they chose. the third group i will have them come up and show many how many fingers that they need to put up to make that number. 

Conclusion

i will be going around the room and asking the students to count to 10 and show me how to count with their finger to the number 10. I will also be asking the students to make the numbers 1-10 on their white board and how many objects they need to represent that number so they will learn the correct about of dots they would need. for example if i asked the students to write the number 10 , they would need ten dots next to the number 10.
