Florida Caverns Exploration

Introduction

In this webquest, you will discover the caverns at Florida Caverns state park, learn how caverns are formed, and learn what causes Karst topography in Florida.













Task

In this task, you will answer six questions in complete sentences as you explore caverns.  Then, you will create an 8 1/2 x 11 inch flyer advertising a tour of the Florida Caverns.

Now, choose one or two pictures from the photo gallery at the Caverns State Park Site, print them out, and use them on your flyer.

Your flyer must be 8 1/2 x 11 inch (standard blank white printer paper size), must be mostly handwritten, include at least one picture of the Florida Caverns and advertise what you will see on a tour.

Conclusion

Hopefully, through this webquest, you will have explored the wonderous world of caverns and Karst topography.  This webquest highlighted Florida Caverns, but there are many other caves and caverns to explore.  Some include the Mammoth Caves, Mexico's Cave of Crystals and the Lascaux Caves.  Do some websurfing to find out about these and other caves on the wonderous landscape of Earth.
