Introduction
Who decides what a map looks like? Who draws them? Are they accurate?
Watch this video and find out:
Task
Well, I hope that was interesting! Now read this article and make a list of the uses of the map throughout history.

Process
So, maps had a lot of uses. And they aren't as accurate as we thought they were. I invite you to visit the following websites to explore how maps may vary.

What was that like? Is there a map that you prefer? Which one seems more accurate to you?
Evaluation
Although this part is called evaluation, I'm a rebel, and I will call it REFLECTION.
So, read the following questions and reflect on what you have learned today. The answers will be shared in class.
1. How do you think this can be connected to the Islas Malvinas?
2. Should be call them Islas Malvinas or Falkland Islands? How should they be called if we wanted to be accurate?
3. In your opinion, what are maps for today?
4. Is your GPS accurate?
5. Do maps shape the vision, philosophy, and power relations in the world?
Finally, I leave here a link where you can find maps in all shapes and colours. Maybe you can use them to decorate your room. But remember, that that's someone else's perception of the world, and not necessarily yours.
