Georgia Habitats

Introduction

We've been studying the habitats of Georgia for the last seven weeks.  This webquest will help you continue to learn about the regions of Georgia and the animals that live there.  You will complete one of the three informational tasks for this assignment and turn it in to Mrs. Colwell.  Good luck and have fun!

Process

1.  Choose your favorite region of Georgia.  Why is this region your favorite?  What animals and plants are in this region?

2.  Read the Georgia Habitat book for your region in the reading station.  You may read this book with a friend, read it by yourself with the whisper phones, or choose to listen to it in the audio center.

3.  After you read the book TWO times, create one of the following graphic organizers to organize your thoughts:

-Create a circle map about a specific animal

-Make a tree map with sections for the animals, plants, and climate

-Write free lance notes (make sure to include plants and animals in your notes!) on index cards

4.  Create ONE of the following assessment pieces based on your interest:

-Create a travel brochure describing your region by listing the interesting facts about it.

-Make a poster that might be placed in a rest area that would draw tourism to your region.

      -  Create a 30 second comercial using IMovie about your region.

Use the rubric to assess your learning and product.

Evaluation

You will recieve two grades for this product - A participation grade for your graphic organizer and an assessment grade for your product.  Use the rubric below to  guide your instruction:
