Major Dates in World War ll

Introduction

World War ll was a crucial part of our history and included the majority of the countries in our world. This was where we formed the two major alliances. It was also the war that had the highest body count regarding deaths; most of them were civilians. Your job in this project is to learn about the alliances, analyze the significant dates, describe which side of the alliances won the particular battles, and I also want you to do some research and see which country truly started this war. You will then choose which side of the alliance you want to be on and you will make a PowerPoint about the information you learned.

Task

In groups of 4, you will answer the following questions with information from the links attached and use the answers to make your PowerPoint. Each person in the group must put forth the effort. I suggest you designate one person to do a couple of slides each.

1. Name the 2 alliances and which countries were a part of each.

2. What was the thing that caused WWll?

3. How did Hitler come into power?

4. When and where did D-Day occur?

5. What was the Battle of Okinawa and which side succeeded?

6. What caused the Great Depression?

7. When was Pearl Harbor and what were the events that happened afterward?

8. Describe the importance of the Battle of the Bulge

9. Give the dates and names of cities where atomic bombs were dropped (and by who)

10. When did WWll end?

Conclusion

After researching and creating your PowerPoint, I hope you have more understanding of the events that transpired during WWll and the key players in this war. This project also helps you understand how to work better in groups. After the project, we will do a game day with either Kahoot or Quizziz to ensure each member of their group played a part and paid attention. The group that wins, each member will get a homework pass.
