Main Idea Detective

Introduction

You have been hired by a client to find the elusive MAIN IDEA!

You're going to read several stories that the client has found for you and work through the main idea-using strategies you have learned in class. Your client is truly interested in main idea and supporting evidence!  

Task

You will read  and analyze three stories/articles to discover the main idea.   Your client is very curious about how you will find the main idea, so she wants you to write down the steps that you follow:

Evaluation

You must be sure to be a good detective and write down the three steps and answer the questions at each step in order for you to get credit. Your client won't be too happy if she can't understand what your process is! You must also write the main idea as a complete sentence

**After you are finished with all of your tasks, your client has decided to allow you some bonus pay! If you write a summary for each of the articles you have read, you can receive up to 6 bonus points! The summaries must contain the main idea and supporting details and be in your own words. You may type them at the bottom of your paper. 

Conclusion

Phew!  What a detective you were!  Being a detective is hard work!  Write down one challenge you faced during this activity and turn it into your teacher!
