Introduction
This webquest provides students the resources to explore the background of the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird. Students will encounter information about the author, historical events, the culture of the 1930's in America, relevant issues of the time period, others' perspectives of the novel, and the role of the novel in America. Through their exploration they will
- Have a greater understanding of the challenges the character face
- Deepen their understanding of the events
- Identify with the issues of the time period
- Relate to the themes of the literature
