Introduction
Hello everyone :)
I hope you are enthusiastic about being in the computer-room! PLEASE, REMEMBER THE RULES WHEN BEING HERE. Today we are studying the Unit on Magnetism through an online guided inquiry.
Task
The final outcome I want you to produce is a semantic map on Magnetism.
I know you have never done this before in digital format, NO WORRIES! You will see it is not difficult!
Process
Please start by checking your desktop, where you will find an easy-to-fulfill template I left to help you with the ellaboration of a digital semantic map. Open it. As you can see, there are three main aspects you are expected to address: 1. Elements of a magnetic field; 2. How do magnetic fields work; 3. Examples of magnetic materials.
These webpages will provide you with the information you need to have:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks2/science/physical_processes/magnet_springs/read/1/
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks2/science/physical_processes/magnet_springs/read/2/
http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks2/science/physical_processes/magnet_springs/read/3/
Evaluation
| Criteria | 0 Not done | 1 Beginning | 2 Competent |
| Define the elements of a magnetic field | Does not address | Explain 1 or 2 superficially or with varying depth | Explain the elements with clarity and depth |
| Explain basic magnetism principles | Does not address | Basic but coherent | Deep and extensive |
| Distinguish magnetic materials | Does not address | Basically | Extensively |
This is the rubric I will use to evaluate your performance. Do your best to be COMPETENT!
Conclusion
Now you are done! Congrats!
Save the word doc. with your semantic field filled in. I will be checking them and posting my feedback to let you know which aspects were very well-done and which aspects need to be reviewed.
Now it is the time to reflect on the difficulties you may have had when dealing with this WebQuest. We will discuss this as a whole group.
