You will become a nature detective, searching the web for clues about each stage of a butterfly's life. You will watch videos, read exciting facts, and create your own fun projects to share what you've learned.

  • Answer the following simple questions: 
  1. How do butterflies benefit the flowers?
  2. How do butterflies support ecosystems in other ways?
  3. What are butterflies sensitive to?

🐛 2. How does a tiny egg become a whole butterfly?

  • Watch this video about the life cycle of butterflies 
  • Record facts from the video about the four stages
  • Discuss these questions below:
  1. In your opinion, what is the most exciting part of the butterfly's lifecycle, and why?
  2. In your opinion, what is the most complex stage of the lifecyle?

📓 3. Storybook 

  • Write a storybook with drawings of the 4 stages of the lifecycle (egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and butterfly)
  • Add speech bubbles to butterfly stages to make them have a fun conversation 
  • Make it colorful and creative, don't be shy with your colors!
  • Present your storybook to the class

🎨 4. Poster

  • Create a colorful poster of the butterfly lifecycle
  • Include a short description to describe each of the stages 
  • Use drawings, cutouts, or printed images
  • Add some fun facts you have learned from the videos you have previously watched like 
    • "Butterflies are important pollinators"
    • "If butterflies die, the whole ecosystem gets affected"
    • "Global warming is killing the butterflies"
