Introduction
Yes, Greece does have a winter !! On the mainland, mountain villages are frequently covered in blankets of snow. Many of the peaks above are dressed in white from November to April. This is a time to experience a different sort of Greece – one of rivers, mountains and glorious natural landscapes as yet undiscovered by mass tourism. This webquest is dedicated to a list of Greece’s top winter destinations.
In this webquest we will learn about:
- Greece Top 6 Tourist Destinations
- How to make lists beginning with the one in most favour
- How to make a cooperative photo gallery on the PC
- What 's the weather like in Greece in December
- Which website can inform us about the weather
- How to make a weather forecast
Task
Your task for this webquest is to learn which are the top 6 destinations in Winter Greece.
You and your group (three students total) will become "experts" in finding out all the necessary information about a Winter Tourist destination and weather forecasts.
Using the knowledge that you have gained in process one, it is now your job as a group to write a weather forecast about your favourite Winter Tourist Destination in Greece.
- Clearly articulate which destination you have chosen.
- Identify what specific characteristics it is related to (region, altitude, close-by villages & cities).
- Mention variation of temperature and full description of a specific day
- (if possible) use a powerpoint where there's a map available to help you sound more real-life.
Process
Step 1
- 1. In groups of three, you will work together to learn about Winter Tourist Destinations and which 6 are on Top according to CNN's article. By using the link http://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/greek-winter-getaways/index.html , you will fill out the first worksheet by making a list with the destinations you have found while putting them on line starting from the most appealing to you!!

Make a cooperative photo gallery
- 2. Choose a picture of your favourite destination on the list and save it so that it can be used in a poll on facebook. (the photos are collected through a USB and will later be used to construct a Poll on facebook during a CLIL lesson)

Watch a video from YouTube regarding the weather in Greece in December so as to prepare yourelves for Step 4.
