Introduction
Susie is a new sixth grade student at Arkadoo Middle School in the United States. She has recently just finished basketball season and wanting to join the softball team. However, Susie does not know anything about the sport of Softball. That is where you her friends step into save the day!
Task
As Susie's friend it is your job to research and explain the rules and different positions of softball to Susie before she joins the team.
Process
Students will get into groups of four and research the different positions and rules of softball. students will use the links provided for their searching.
Students One and Two: Research and write down the different positions of softball and what their roles are on the field.
Students Three and Four: Research and write down the rules of softball and be able to explain them.
Once the information has been gathered, students will put together a presentation to share with the rest of class at the end of the period.

Students will be graded based on four major points.
1. How the presentation looks?
2. How well communicated the material is to the class? (oral skills and eye contact)
3. Do the students have a good understanding of the material?
4. Did the students stay on task?
Conclusion
The point of this WebQuest was to be able to research and understand the importance of the positions and rules of softball. Also to be able to understand how to do a presentation and how to work a WebQuest. I hope you all have learned something new from this activity!

This webquest was designed for the fifth to seventh grade classroom. It is designed to expand student knowledge of softball rules and positions. Students will also learn team work skill and self learning skill. Students will be put into groups of four and do their assigned jobs. They will research and share information they found to the rest of the class in a presentation.
