Hello ...
My name is Lwin Gugin. I have been teaching English (ESL/EFL) at Liberal Academy in Guam since August 2006, and at the Japanese School of Guam since January 2009. I have B.A (English) from Yangon University, Myanmar and B.A in English (Language Emphasis) from the University of Guam. I also completed the coursework for M.A in Applied Linguistics at YU and accomplished an online A.D in Earlichildhood Education with Madison University. I am currently a candidate for M.Ed.(TESOL) at the School of Education, UOG.
Prior to teching at Liberal Academy, I taught English at the English Department of Yangongon University for more than a decade, volunteered as an ESL tutor at ABE, Kishwaukee Community College, Northern Illinois, and wroked at the Childcare Center of the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
I learned English as a school subject and as a foreign language. As I can put myself in the place of my students who are learning English, I see my teaching career as impeccably rewarding. I strive to be a better educator with deeper understanding for my students. The graduate classes that I have taken are constructive and knowledge-enhancing for my personal and professional development.
I also enjoy integrating my teaching career with the knowledge I have obtained in the field of educational technology. Technology-enhanced lesson plans are more motivating, interesting and encouraging different types of learners to participate, cooperate and collaborate for class activities, group projects and their academic progress. I am pleased with the lesson plan I prepared for the ED662 assignment Week #3.
