Introduction
In our Solar System there are 8 known planets, but what if there are more? The eight that are known are Mercury,Venus,Earth,Mars,Jupiter,Saturn,Uranus,Neptune. In the past scientists thought their were nine planets with the last planet being Pluto. What if they had the right concept but wrong planet?
Task
Students you will be working and researching to decide which object in space can be the long lost planet.
- Research on the Moon
- Decide which of the following could be the lost planet
- Create a Poster supporting your ideas
You will keep a notebook to record your research in and to record your ideas.
After you have researched your moon your group will all decide how your moon could be the last planet of our Solar System.
As a group you will create a poster board in class.
Process
First you will be divided into Teams: There will be Five moon teams. 1. Team Europa 2. Team Leda 3. Team Metis 4. Team Sinope 5.Team Thebe'
Step 1:Research your assigned moon
Step 2:Record your research neatly in your journal.
Step 3:Think about how your moon can be a planet.
Step 4: As a group discuss everyone's research and everyone's ideas on the topic at hand.
Step 5: Once you have decided how to transform your moon into the long lost planet;you will create a poster board. The poster board must include:
- A drawing of your planet.
- Description and drawings of the houses and transportation.
- Description and drawing of the food and water ideas.
- List of the types of animals and plants on your new planet.
- Description of what you need to in the atmosphere.
