The Holocaust

Introduction

The Holocaust took place from 1933 to 1945, and was led by the German dictator, Adolf Hitler. It was the persecution and murder of 6 million Jews by the Nazi regime. Research and analyze the events that occured during the Holocaust, and the effect it had on the rest of the world. You will answer a series of questions about the Holocaust and it effects on Germany, along with it's role in World War II.

Task

You will create a word document answering 10 questions involving the Holocaust and World War II in complete sentences. You will use provided internet sources, and your answers should be completed in detail, considered you are given plenty of information. 

 

Process

You will research the answers to these 10 questionsand put them in a word document using the provided resources. Make sure to answer in detail. 

1. Which was the largest concentration camp in Europe?

2. On August 2, 1943, a planned rebellion occurred in which several guards and one SS officer were killed. Over 200 inmates escaped. Which death camp did this rebellion take place in?

3. What was the first official permanent concentration camp which opened in 1933?

4. In 1941, the Nazis began the practice of tattooing their prisoners. Where did they originally place the tattoos?

5. Which concentration camp housed the largest number of women?

6. How many Jews were murdered during the Holocaust?

7. How did the Nazi's officially define who was a Jew?

8. What does the term "Final Solution" mean and what is its origin?

9. How many non-Jewish civilians were murdered during WWII in Europe?

10. How many major Nazi extermination camps (death camps) were there?

Conclusion

In conclusion, you now understand the impact of the Holocaust, and have a better understanding of the events that occured during WWII.
