Introduction
This assignment was designed to teach students how to format various cliparts/images and shapes. The following is a shape called the Trapezoid. It is used to form the left and right walls of the house.
Task
The students must go on the Internet to find examples of rooms to design for their "make believe" house. The students must then copy the image to their MS PowerPoint, 3 D Drawing ( its a room).
Sometimes it is necessary to recolor the image and crop the image.
Process
- Open up Microsoft PowerPoint
- Click Open, Blank Presentation
- On the first slide (Title Slide) . For Title type “My House” and subtitle type your name
- Look on the menu bar. Select menu item Home.
- Click on New Slide, Click on Layout Choose blank
TO CREATE FRONT OF HOUSE
- Now on menu bar, Choose insert
- Select shapes, Select the rectangle tool for house and Select trapezoid for roof to draw parts of house.
- Click on Insert clipart to find windows and other things that you want on the front of the house or in your front yard. ONLY ANIMATED CLIP ART.
- Now click on Home, and click on New Slide.
- Click on Layout and Choose blank.
- To draw the first room, click on the trapezoid.
- Use the green circle to draw the left wall.
- Place the base of the trapezoid against the left side of the slide and stretch the trapezoid to form the left wall. LEAVE some space in the middle for the back wall. See illustrations number 1 and 2. Use rectangle for middle of the back wall.
- For the right wall, use the green circle to reverse the trapezoid, to use the base against the right side of the slide.
- Use the rectangle to draw the floor and ceiling (illustration number 3).
- NOW you have to RIGHT mouse click on rectangle shape (the floor) Click on Order and Select Send to Back. See illustration number 4.
- Now you must add seven items in the rooms. (Add Pictures, windows doors, ceiling fans, etc. See page 2.
- Color for walls:
- You can click on the walls (Trapezoid figure) and click on paint can and choose color. Also, there is a way to google backgrounds and insert these for “specialty” walls.
- Practice drawing the walls for two different rooms and then you can click on slide and duplicate/copy the slide for other rooms.

Evaluation
THE TYPES OF ROOMS YOU SHOULD HAVE IN YOUR HOUSE (9 slides total) .
Must have at least 5 items in each room/slide for a C, 6 items for a B, and 7 or more items for an A.
You can put doors on one of your walls, pictures, windows, etc… (Put appropriate things that normally go on a wall and in a house.)
Total points = 66 points [Title slide is only worth 5 points].
No extra white spaces on pictures/images
