The Lorax By Dr. Seuss

The Lorax by Dr.Seuss tells the story of how the overuse of natural resources because of just one person's greed and wastefulness drastically changes the environment.

Task

You will work together with your team to determine how the natural resource, the truffula tree, was overused and what the effects of this were. Then, individually you will find a North Carolina resource of your own to determine the effects of that resources depletion. 

Process

Task 1:

In groups of 3 to 4, create an informative poster about how the overuse of the the truffula tree impacted the environment in the story. Be sure to include examples from the text as well as pictures/ drawings.

Task 2: 

Individually, choose one of the following North Carolina natural resources to research more in-depth. Fill out the graphic organizer with the information found in the source for your natural resource. Then you will write a summary explaining  how over usage of the resource impacts the availability of the resource as well as the environment. Be sure to reference the rubric when writing your paragraph.

Over using natural resources can have a negative impact on the availability of the resource, as well as, the environment.
