Introduction

Welcome to the Coasts WebQuest.

As you have learnt, the coast line is shaped by the processes of Erosion, Transportation and Deposition.

Today's lesson focuses on the movement of eroded material along the coastline and the measures that are put in place to prevent/slow longshore drift and further erosion of the coast line.

Task

Your task is to create two A4 posters using Microsoft Word or Publisher to:

  • explain how longshore drift moves material along the coast
  • illustrate and explain four examples of coastal defences.
