Introduction
This webquest will allow you to explore the ancient world of the Romans, in particular their architecture. You will review examples of Roman architecture and discover the unique architectural contributions made by the Romans. Since many modern day architectural designs incorporate ancient Roman ideas, it will be eye opening to identify the Roman design elements through examples in your local modern environment.
Task
You and your group members have been chosen by the Philadelphia Art Museum to conduct the preliminary research on the upcoming Roman Architecture exhibit. Your tasks include the following:
1.) Research and identify the major architectural design elements attributited to the Roman Empire.
2.) Create presentation of Roman architectural elements.
3.) Utilizing compare and contrast format, create a collage of Modern and ancient Roman architectural elements.
4.) Delegate portions of presentation to group members to present to class.
Process
The Process will include, but not be limited to:
1.) Forming your group.
2.) Delegating responsibilities and assigning tasks for class presentation.
3.) Exploing resources: websites, books, videos.
4.) Bookmarking all of your information.
5.) Sharing your research with group and comparing your findings. Developing a summary and presentation of the group's research.
