Introduction
Hello Damarin Explorers!
Recently we have been learning about butterflies and their life cycle. Did you know that almost all living things go through a life cycle? Plants, animals, insects, and other living things go through a life cycle, just like us (and butterflies). Lets spend some time exploring and learning about other things and their cycles of life.

Task
For this week's adventure, you will need to identify three living things, and research one of the living things. One living thing must be a plant, the other an animal, and one must be an insect They can be ones you see regularly or even something you have never heard of. The possibilities are all yours. After exploring the variety of different living things, choose the one that is the most interesting to you. This will be your research project for this webquest. You will explore and research their life cycle, and then compare it to that of a butterfly. This webquest will give you more of an understanding of what a life cycle is, the differences between different plants and animals, and why it is important for survival.

Process
LET'S EXPLORE
1. The first step in this Webquest is to identify three living things.
Living thing 1: Plant
Living thing 2: Animal
Living three 3: Insect
2. Once you have identified your living things, it is time to explore the internet and research their life cycles. Check out the following websites for what their life cycle entails and list identify the different stages.

3. Now that you have discovered the different types of life cycles of a plant, animal, and insect, choose one to base your webquest research exploration on. Use the worksheet provided by your teacher as a guideline, and create a drawing of steps that detail your living things life cycle. Just like a butterfly, and all things, it must be born and then grow up. Be sure to label the different stages, including any specific words that are used specifically for that living thing. Next compare any similarities that you living things' life cycle has to that of a butterfly.

Conclusion
Understanding that all living things are born and grow is an important idea in understanding the growth of all things found on planet Earth. Just like the life cycle of a butterly, plants, animals, and insects must change into something bigger, and sometimes better. All explorers should understand not only what they are, but what they have the capability of being.
