Introduction

Have you ever wondered how butterflies are created? Today you are going to learn all about the life cycle of butterflies and what makes these creatures so unique! Are you ready to do some activities and learn all about butterflies? Go to the next page. 

 

 

Task

Objectives: 

  • I can persist, attend, and engage in all tasks, activities, projects, and experiences related to the life cycle of a butterfly. ECSQ-PK. AL. 2.2
  • I can observe the life cycle of caterpillars to butterflies and identify what they need to survive. ECSQ-PK.S.2.3
  • I can investigate the life cycle of caterpillars to butterflies by asking questions, observing, and making predictions. ECSQ-PK.S.1.5

  • Complete all 5 activities on the life cycle of a butterfly by myself and with a partner. 
  • Make a picture to show what I learned at the end. 
  • Try my best and focus on the activities.☺
Process

Activity 1: Listen and read the digital story, "The Amazing Life Cycle of Butterflies" and then talk to your partner about your favorite part of the story. 

Activity 2: Complete the interactive story of the 4 stages of the cycle. See if you can match and label them correctly. 

Activity 3: Brain Break! Learn the Butterfly Dance and do it with your partner. 

Activity 4: Now that you are learning the 4 stages of the life cycle of a butterfly. Complete the Kango Boomerang activity by yourself. Try to answer as many questions as you can to keep playing!

Activity 5: With your partner follow the directions and work together to make your own foldable butterfly life cycle craft. 

*After you have completed all 5 activities, please show me your butterfly craft. I will then give you your journal to draw a quick picture of what you learned today. When you complete your drawing, come give me your journal and you have finished the WebQuest! Great Job!
