But how did Rizal’s experiences influence the person he became? In this WebQuest, you will explore important events in Rizal’s life and discover how his education, travels, relationships, and experiences influenced his writings and ideas about the Philippines.
Task
Your task is to create a digital timeline and reflection about the life and works of José Rizal.
Your timeline should include at least 8 significant events in Rizal’s life. For each event, include:
- The date or year
- What happened
- Where it happened
- Why the event was significant
- How it may have influenced Rizal’s ideas or works
After completing your timeline, write a short reflection answering:
“How did Rizal’s experiences influence his ideas about the Philippines and its people?”
Process
- Research the life of José Rizal using the online resources provided.
- Identify important events in his childhood, education, travels, writings, and final years.
- Choose at least eight significant events for your timeline.
- Research each event and take note of important details.
- Connect each event to Rizal’s ideas, writings, or contribution to Philippine society.
- Create your digital timeline using a tool such as Canva, Google Slides, or another presentation tool.
- Write your reflection based on what you discovered.
- Review your work and make sure all information is properly sourced.
- Submit your completed timeline and reflection.
