The Lewis and Clark Expedition

Introduction

Welcome to Mr. Davis' Webquest on the Lewis and Clark Expedition! Throughout this Webquest, you will travel across America with Lewis and Clark and discover what they discovered. By the end of this Webquest, you should have learned how the American West was first described and recorded. Hopefully you will have a newfound appreciation of the beauty of America!

Task

In this webquest, you will research the expedition and create a PowerPoint presentation based on the information you gather. You will have certain topics you must research, as well as the freedom to choose what additional information you will research and include in your presentation. The topics and the websites are listed on the process page. As you read the websites, you may use this note-taking template to gather your information for creating the PowerPoint.

The first step you need to do is visit this website and read the information to gain a broad understanding of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

After conducting your research, use your notes to create your PowerPoint slideshow. You will need at least two slides, two pictures, six bullet points of information, and the URL's of your research for each category you researched (There should be at least 12 slides total). After creating the PowerPoint, the students will get into pairs and present to each other.

Evaluation

Conclusion

After taking turns presenting with your partner, tell your partner something you learned from them and something you liked about their presentation. Then as an exit slip, write a sentence or two describing what the Lewis and Clark Expedition was. Lastly, write three key facts about the expedition.
