For this assignment you will research by going to the links provided on the next page, and you will answer the following questions.

  1. What important nutrients does each food group give our body?

  2. How do the nutrients from each food group help our body?

  3. What are two examples of the best sources of nutrients (food) from each food group ?

 

After researching answers to above questions, you will then

Task 1:  

 Complete the worksheet in Google Docs which has been shared with you on the next page   

 

 

Task 2 : Choose either A or B and complete

 

  A) Create a Powerpoint presentation reflecting your knowledge about Food Groups. 

 

OR

  B)  Create a brochure, explaining the importance of nutrients in all Food Groups with examples.

Task 1:

 Go to Nutrients in Food - in Google Docs to answer the questions and complete the chart  by gathering information from the following sites.  IMPORTANT: Make sure you make a  copy of Google Doc before working on it and share it with your teacher.

Task 2:

Now choose one from A or B to explain the importance of nutrients in our food, and how it helps us stay active and healthy. Make sure to include following information;

  • The food groups and the main nutrients each one provides

  • What those nutrients do for our bodies

  • What happens if we eat too much, or not enough, of those nutrients

  • How much we should eat from each food group each day

 

A)  Create a Powerpoint Presentation reflecting your knowledge about Food Groups and nutrients. Should have 8 to 10 slides

Conclusion

  

Being Healthy is the most important thing for our health. Knowing how to keep ourselves healthy is necessary so we can select and eat the right foods and the right amount of nutrients to help keep us active. A well-balanced diet is the best way to achieve it.
