Let’s Reduce Plastic Waste

Introduction

Introduction

Have you ever looked around your school, home, or community and noticed how much plastic waste is everywhere? Plastic bags, bottles, wrappers, and other disposable materials are used every day because they are cheap and convenient. However, many people do not properly dispose of them, which leads to a growing environmental problem.

Plastic waste is now one of the biggest issues in many places around the world. It can block drainage systems and cause flooding, harm animals that accidentally eat or get trapped in plastic, and pollute rivers, oceans, and land. It also takes a very long time to break down, which means it stays in the environment for many years.

Because of this problem, it is important for students like you to become aware and take action in simple ways. Even small changes in our daily habits, like reducing the use of plastic or recycling properly, can help protect our environment.

In this activity, you will learn more about plastic waste and think of simple ways to reduce it. You will explore what plastic waste is, why it is harmful, and what we can do to reduce it. You will also work in groups to think of practical and realistic solutions that can help your school or community become cleaner and healthier.
