Our community Helpers - A WebQuest for my grade 2 class

Welcome learners to my webquest about our Community Helpers! . From today's WebQuest we will be learning about types of Community Helpers to mention a few doctors ,nurses,teachers ,dentists,police officers ,traffic offices etc .Community helpers are very important people in our communities because they play a very important role in our community with their services i.e doctors help us when we are sick and injured while teachers help us teach us how to read and write as well as teaching us about math more importantly fire fighters help put out wild and house fires and as well as to teach us about the dangers of fires.
In this wequest the learners will be expected to use technology to access different types of websites by using both computers and the Internet.

Task
At the end of this WebQuest you will be able to idendify:
- The community helpers in you community.
- Tool that are used by the community helpers in their work places.
- The clothing worn at work by each community helper.
Tasks that will be completed by the learners :
- Watch a video about different community helpers
- In groups complete a quizz on quizziz about the different community helpers they learned about
- In groups of 4 will make a e-book and publish it and share their link to our google classroom.
Process
Activity 1
In groups of 4 watch the following video about the different types of community helpers
Activity 2
After watching the video about the community helpers now click on the following link to complete the quizz you will be required to enter the game code 130737 to be able to about the community helpers in our community Enjoy !!!
Activity 3
Create an e- book
instructions .
Think of all the community helpers in your community and create an e-book about how they help our community. You can use any free online application e.g. book create, or Canva. Your e-book must have at least a minimum of 6 pages.
Divide yourselves in groups of 4 and follow these steps :
Step1: Decide amongst yourselves which one of you will take a role of team member 1,2,3& 4 to complete the following tasks.
Team member 1:- Search and collect images of community helpers on the internet and find out how they help our community
Team member 2 :- Find out where they work e.g. nurse work in hospitals or clinics.
Team member 3 :- Find out the tools they use in their perspective jobs.
Team member 4:- Find out mode of transports they use and their uniforms/clothes they wear in their workplaces e.g doctors wear white coats and gloves etc.And their mode of transports are ambulances.
Step 2
Put together the information all the information each member have gathered and make an e-book using the above mentioned free online applications.
Step 3
Once you are done and happy with your e-book you may publish it and get a sharable link then share the link on our google classroom.

- In conclusion the learners will share their e-books with class and they will also think about the about the community helper they want to be one day.
