Leisure activities in Laos

Introduction

Traditional culture in Laos has been heavily influenced by various strains of Khmer, Vietnamese and Thai cultures. The lowland Lao share the same ancestry as many Thai tribes, so the similarities between Lao and Thai culture are especially strong. This can be seen in Lao sculpture, classical music, dance-dramas and cuisine. Lao folk music is more indigenous, based around the khaen (a double row of bamboo reeds fitted into a hardwood sound box). Folk music is often accompanied by dancing or bawdy theatre. The focus of most traditional art has been primarily religious and includes wats (temples), stupas and several distinctively Lao representations of Buddha. The Lao remain skilful carvers and weavers, but traditional silversmithing and goldsmithing are declining arts.

Conclusion

The characteristics of Thai and Laos are similar. Weaving Laos in the east to the west is similar to weaving in all parts of Thailand, but there may be differences on the strip of fabric. To see Luang Prabang with e-bike. Activities are similar to Thailand, such as cycling in the old town of Ayutthaya in Thailand . Thailand and Laos has the same goal is to appreciate the beauty of the tourist. But differently, the attractions of each country are different. Many waterfalls are popular destinations such as Kuang Si Falls in Laos or waterfalls in Thailand such as Erawan waterfall in Kanchanaburi. there are similar activities in the waterfall.but the uniqueness of each waterfall. Kayaking on the Mekong is an activity similar to Thailand, such as boating in Kaeng Krachan Dam , Phetchaburi Province. Enjoy the same fun. but the nature of the attractions are different. Sayaboutry Elephant sanctuacy is a land of million elephant that is similar Ta Khang elephant village, Surin, the largest elephant village in the world. However, there may be cultural differences in elephant viewing and elephant feeding.

So leisure activities in Laos and Thailand are similar in terms of activities and fun, but different in terms of culture and identity of each country.
