Introduction
Have you ever wondered how to make a sentence ? You are kindergartners and each day you get more familiar with words. Today we are going to start to learn on how to make a complete sentence. We will start by watching a little video.
Task
I will have words on note cards laminated so they are not going to get messed up. There will also be cards with either a period (.), question mark(?)or an exclamation point(!). At first we will all make the same sentence. I will show my sentence on the smart board so all of the students can see the sentence that we are creating together. Once we are done doing one sentence i will let the students make sentences on their own for about 10 - 15 minutes, they can work with their friends in their table if they would like.
Process
Step 1. Explain to the students what a sentence is and the parts to a sentence. (The capital letter, the subject, the verb, the ending point)
Step 2. We will watch a sentence video that is on you tube
Step 3. I will show the class a sentence on the smart board so they can understand the concept of this lesson
Step 4. Students will already be in their group tables, students will make their own sentences. Either by themselves or they can work as a group
Step 5. I will walk around and make sure all the students are understanding the lesson.
Evaluation
I will be evaluating the students by making sure they are understanding the concept. Although kindergarten is still a young age but they should start learning and understanding how to make a complete simple sentence. I will be walking around the classroom at all times so the students can ask me any questions that they need to ask.
Conclusion
Now that my students understand a complete sentence and what they must have in order to make a complete sentence. Make sure you guys are always on the look out for sentences. Also I am allowing you guys to take home the sentence cards so you can tell the people at home what you did at school today. Also explain to them how to make a sentence.
Credits
Lesson objective : Have students get the basic understanding of what a sentence is , the parts of a sentence and what the main parts of a sentence are.
Materials: I will provide all the materials needed for the students. I will have cards with different words on it, also I will have cards with ending marks on them. The students will be able to make simple short sentences with the cards that I provide them.
