Leaning about Photosynthesis!

Introduction

Photosynthesis in Plants!

Have you ever looked onto an open field that was empty one day, and then over time the field is full of flowers? How do those flowers get there? Every time you drove by the field you never saw someone taking care of the flowers. How do they grow all by themselves? They grow through a process known as photosynthesis, which is a continual system that allows flower to make their own food.

- Students will be able to follow and explain the different stages of the photosynthesis cycle

In this WebQuest, students will have an understanding of photosynthesis, understand how it is beneficial for all pants, and have hand-on experience creating their own photosynthesis cycle.

Task

- Students will need to make a photosynthesis toy recipe

- Students will also need to make a mini terrain to be able to observe up close the process of photosynthesis

All completed work must be brought to classes for credit of completion.

Process

Videos: Watch this video to help gain a better understanding the process of photosynthesis.

After using theses resources students should be able to have a better grasp of the concept of photosynthesis in plants. They should be able to explain in their own words what photosynthesis is and its importance. When completely task students should be able to explain the different features that are highlighted in the different activities.

Evaluation
       3 - Excellent    2 - Good 1- Poor
Activity  Completed all activities with all the requirements  Finished activities but with missing requirements/ Finished only one of the two required activities.  Completed none of the activities
Completion of Resources Completed reading and watching require resources Read partial and/or watch partial part of the recourses. Watched only one or read only one of three required recourses  Read and/or watched none of the videos
Verbal Re-Telling Was able to talk about the stages of photosynthesis in their own words covering important information with clarity Was able to re-tell some stages of photosynthesis in their own words. Missed important details and/or steps, was not clear or well spoken.  Was not able to re-tell of any stages of photosynthesis or any importance details.
Total Points:

Conclusion

Congratulations! You now have some understanding of the process of photosynthesis! Watch your mini terrain carefully nad take note of any changes. In your observation, write down the stages that you see that line up with your photosynthesis toy recipe card.

When students are re-telling of the process of photosynthesis, make sure that they are saying key words that were emphasized in classes or in videos. Make sure that the photosynthesis toy recipe card shows that the student put some care into creating it. Make sure that the students are not confused on the different stages of photosynthesis and that everything is made clear to them.
