Introduction
Welcome to my "Holes" Webquest, my newly acquired Form 2 students!
Hopefully, you will be able to work your way through the maze of the task and you will demonstrate a deep understanding of the text that you read.
Task
To reach your summative assignment, you will be required to complete a number of tasks through this website. These tasks will help you to gain a thorough understanding of the novel, so be sure to complete all of them. Complete a blog of your responses. Click here to learn how you can do this.

Process
After each of the below Steps you must complete a blog entry.
Step 1: With a partner, discuss the Statement of Inquiry: One's perspective and character during challenges often determine fair or unfair outcomes. Do you agree with this statement?
Step 2: Write a paragraph that highlights your answer in relation to something you have experienced yourself.
Step 3: Similes and Metaphors. Read the following and explain how they enhance our understanding of the setting:
- One hundred and ten years ago, Green Lake was the largest lake in Texas. It was full of clear cool water, and it sparkled like a giant emerald in the sun"
- "It was said that Green Lake was 'heaven on earth' and that Miss Katherine's spiced peaches were 'food for the angels'"
- "His mouth was as dry and as parched as the lake" (105).
Step 4: What similarities and differences do you see with Green Lake and Le Bocage? (be careful!)
Step 5: Click on the link and read through the various quotes. Pick three quotes and write a short analysis of each. Be sure to explain the significance of the quote.
Step 6: Play the flashcards game and count your score (no cheating!)
Step 7: An important part of any piece of literature are the literary elements/devices that are in the work. You need to read through the various literary elements that are discussed and choose two that you want to focus on. You will then elaborate on your chosen areas and write a couple of paragraphs on each. You must then compare "Holes" with some poetry you covered in Term 1. You will be asked to present your work.
