A noun is a naming word. It is the name of people, places, animals and
things. For eg.boy, Tom, cat, Fluffy, shop, Jamaica, mango, pencil ect.
We can also use words to tellus more about a noun. These words are
called adjectives. We need adjectives to givemore details about people,
places, animals and things. It is how someone or somethinglooks,
feels, sounds, smells and taste. Therefore, an adjective is a describing word.
Some adjectives describe colour, size, shape, height and weight. Here are
someadjectives- blue, pretty, big, tall, heavy.
You have learnt that nouns are naming words they are the names of people ,
places, animals and things. Adjectives are describing words,
they tell a whole lot about nouns. Practice using these to develop your
communication skills and your writing techniques.
