Conclusion

There are many differences, yet many similarities between Canadian and American Thanksgiving. The first one Is that Canadian people seem to not be as proud of claiming this holiday as the Americans but it is still their own, original holiday. Despite being founded and celebrated around the same time and based on similar stories ,the two thanksgivings were established in similar tales of foreigners being welcomed by indigenous people and settling into North America. When Canada came into North America a man, Sir Robert-Frobisher came sailing in tumultuous conditions to try to settle in Newfoundland and lost many men and materials and held a Thanksgiving to God and held in holy communion to thank for their lives despite the ice, storms ,and the hardships they faced. Later on French settlers and Samuel de Champlain held many Thanksgiving feasts and events ,welcoming indigenous people to enjoy it with them(things with the natives didn't do so well either). this is very similar to how America settled on Plymouth rock and gave thanks for the harvest that they had made with the help of the native Americans and celebrated with them at a feast. In conclusion this seems to be a holiday founded in two different places that came to be very much alike each other in many ways.
