La Ropa

Introduction

ATTN XTH STUDENTS: You have each been hired as interns by a group of celebrity stylists. Each stylist has their own unique client list and design for different occasions. In order to evaluate your potential employability, you have to create a portfolio of designs for your new boss's clients. You need to please both the stylist and the celebrity client, while staying within budget in order to succeed. Since everyone is self-isolated, stores are closed and you must search the internet to find the appropriate clothes for each of your prospective clients!

Task

Each of you will use the resources available to design fashionable outfits for celebrities, staying within the budget. After curating your outfits into a portfolio, you will give a presentation to display your designs using Slides and a screencasting app.

Process

Part 1: Choose the stylist who you will be working for from this list. Choose at least two celebrity clients from their list.

Part 2: Each client desires two designs that could be for the following occasions. Remember, celebrities can be very bougie and like to change their clothes at least one so you'll have to create two stylish outfits for each scenario.

(choose at least 2 from this list)

  • Red Carpet Attire
  • Fashion-forward self-isolation loungewear (or workout wear) for social media posting
  • Magazine or Album Cover
  • Date Night
  • Interview Shows (an appearance on Oprah, Ellen, or Late Night with Seth Myers, etc.)

So, this means you will need 2 outfits for each 2 occasions for each 2 celebrities--giving a grand total of 8 outfits.

Part 3: In this section you will need to use the following websites in Spanish to try and find the right clothes within your budget (1000 € [Euros]). make sure that you keep track of which store and the prices of the pieces you choose because you will need that information for your presentation.

(Visit at least 2 of these websites)

Part 4: Now that you have curated your designs, it's time to think about how you are going to present them to your boss and your clients. You will need to produce a Slides presentation with images of all the different items of clothing you have chosen for your celebrity as well as the source and price for each item.

In order to be successful you must do the following:

  • Have an attractive title page
  • A quick description of who your celebrity is and what you have been asked to find.
  • Slides with each outfit. These should contain a description of the outfit with colors and patterns. Include prices. Check the endings of words! (adjective agreement with colors).
  • Use a minimum of at least 4 preterite verbs in your presentation. (Possible examples: I chose, I decided, I added, etc.) Use spanishdict.com's conjugation charts as a resource.
  • Use screencast-o-mastic (or another screencasting method) to give an oral voiceover presentation to accompany your slides.
  • Final opinion on which outfit you recommend to your celebrity and a final price.

Submit your presentation/video to this Google Drive folder

Part 5: Watch your peers' presentations and give them feedback in Spanish on this document. Give them your opinions in your feedback--do you like or dislike their designs? Do you agree/disagree with their choices for their clients and why?
