La Llorona

Introduction

Sandra Cisneros uses many allusions in her story "Woman Hollering Creek."  Some allusions are places, others are tv soap operas, but most prominent in the allusions used is the folktale of La Llorona.  This webquest is designed to allow you to see the significance of allusion in this story, as well as understand how allusion is often the basis for many stories - both real and imaginary.

Task

You will be creating your own La Llorona tale to be submitted by 11:59 on Friday, April 17.

4.  Write a news story describing a "La Llorona" sighting.  You may use as many or as few details of the original story as you wish.  Be sure to answer Who?  When?  Where? and How?  You may suggest explanations for your sighting, but be as objective as possible
