Introduction
This year all 12th grade students are reading The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. It is not enough to just read the book, do the required assignments and write the end of unit essay. When reading a novel students should walk away learning a life lesson. After reading a piece of literature we should be changed in someway by the life lesson that we have learned. Hopfully after reading the Kite Runner students will view Middle Eastern people in a different light and not the post 9/11 perception that is widly spread through different types of media. This webquest will allow students to research the culture, religion, geography, economics, and politics of Afghanistan. They will also have the opportunity to research the life of Khaled Hosseini growing up in Afghanistan and his life in America today.
