The Civil War

Introduction

Imagine you are playing in your back yard when all of a sudden, you find a mysterious artifact! After you pick up the artifact, you are transported through time! After a quick peek around, you discover you are in the Civil War time era!

The American Civil war was an important factor in shaping the American we know today. Throughout this journey, you will see both sides of the story, North and South, why the United States fought against themselves for four years, and you'll meet the important people that helped shape the Civil War!

Task

After reading the website I've provided for you, you and the historians of your group you've traveled back in time with will create an artificat of the Civil War time era. After checking with your teacher, you can create any item you would like. Some examples are a Federal frock coat, hat, bed roll, water flask, belt buckle, or anything you and your fellow historians find interesting! After creating this artifact, you and your fellow historians should write a story that the artifact tells. It could be a true story or it could be a made up, but be sure to relate it correctly to what the artifact was used in!

Have fun, historians!
