Introduction

Welcome, young psychologists! Have you ever wondered how we learn? Why do some people pick up new skills easily while others struggle? In this WebQuest, you will embark on a journey to explore three major learning theories: Cognitive Psychology, Behaviorism, and Social Cognitive Theory. By the end of this quest, you will not only understand these theories but also apply them in a creative way!

Task

Your mission is to investigate these three learning theories and compare their approaches to how people acquire knowledge. You will then create an engaging multimedia presentation (video, infographic, slideshow, or podcast) that explains the key differences among these theories and provides real-world applications.

This project will be completed in groups of three. Each member will assume a role:

  • Researcher: Gather information on the three theories and provide key details.

  • Content Developer: Organize the findings into an engaging and clear presentation.

  • Creative Designer: Design and format the multimedia product.

Process

  1. Explore the Theories

  2. Compare and Contrast

    • Create a Venn diagram highlighting the similarities and differences between the three theories.

    • Identify real-world applications of each theory.

  3. Create Your Product

    • Develop a multimedia presentation incorporating visuals, examples, and explanations.

    • Make sure to clearly define each theory and show how they apply to learning.

  4. Review and Reflect

    • As a group, reflect on your learning process and answer the following:

      • Which theory do you think is most effective for learning?

      • How does understanding these theories help educators and students?

  5. Submit Your Work

    • Upload your multimedia product to the class forum by April 16.
