Introduce Topic: Survival Skills

Survival Skills - They are skills, methods and techniques a person may use in order to sustain life in any place or type of natural environment. 

Place in Kiribati Culture: Planting and Cultivation, Toddy cutting, Cooking, Fishing, Navigation, Magic and Sorcery, Martial arts.

Values: ICH – Intangible Cultural Heritage (e.g. KOROKAREWE, TE MWANEABA), Food, Travelling, Health, Self Defence, Socializing.

 

 

 

 

 

Task

 

  • Group Discussion - Divide student into 4 groups and allocate them to their work

                                            Group 1: Discuss what is survival skills in your own understanding. 

                                            Group 2: List 2 place, value and identity in Kiribati culture.

                                         

  • Presentation - Student will present what they have discussed in their groups
