Welcome to the WebQuest for "A Long Walk to Water" by Linda Sue Park. In this WebQuest, you will find a variety of activities and information to go through.
Task
Find the worksheet on the Moodle webpage and be sure to save the worksheet to the computer. You can work on the worksheet on the computer.
Process
1. Choose one of the following tribes: Dinka, Nuer, Luo, Toposa, and Didinga.
2. Read this article on the war in Darfur and answer the questions on the worksheet.
3. Use this water footprint calculator to find how much water you use. Write down at least three ways you can conserve water.
4. Learn more about the conflict between the North Sudan and the South Sudan.
5. Read about Salva's organization and learn about what he does.
6. Learn about the Lost Boys of Chicago and relate their story to Salva's.
7. Play this vocabulary game that feeds hungry children when you get answers correct. Write down the highest level you can achieve.
Conclusion
When finished with the worksheet, upload it to the Moodle site AND print a hardcopy to turn in to Miss Brooks.
