Welcome Students! Have you ever heard a buzz and wondered what was making that sound? If you were thinking a bee then your on the right track! Bees are an important part of our environment. Today you will act as a queen bee, you will find a home for your hive, discover facts about how your hive works, and how it impacts your environment. Then next time someone asks “What's all the buzz about?” you will have the answer.
Task
Your Quest to build the perfect bee hive is about to begin. You will travel up and down the state of California looking for the perfect home for your hive. Think about the things you will need to make your hive productive. What plants are local near your hive? Is there a water source? What other bees will live in your hive? What are their jobs?
Process
1. You will need to define these terms
2. Then research a city or town in California and decide on where to plant your hive.
3. What crops or plants are grown near your hive to collect pollen from? Is there a water source?
