Introduction
For a very long time humans have been facinated with the functionality of our bodies and how it regulates everything. Through studies and experiments, most of the answers have been answered.
One of these questions was, 'What would happen if an animal had a fluorescent gene that made it glow in the dark?'. Well rest assured, this question has also been answered.
Scientists have successfully create cats that glow in the dark under special lights.

Task
Read about the process required to create a glow in the dark cat. Then create an experimental procedure you would use to actually perform such an experiment so that the new animal does not die and can create future offspring that have this gene.
You will use the information learned from class in the past week to create (write) an actual experiment that a scientist would use in his/her lab. This experimental write-up needs to be accurate and needs to follow the appropriate steps, as learned in class.
Also, the new animal with be a Poodle.
Yes, you have to make this majestic creature GLOW IN THE DARK!
Process
Here are a few various link to get you started on the process required to do such an experiment.
Click on the pictures to take you to its respective information.
Do your own research as well on how genetic engeering works.
Explain what role retro viruses have in this entire procedure.
Make sure to explain why it would be possible to have the transfer between cats and poodles.
Evaluation
You will be marked on:
1. Did you do your research?
2. Do you understand how genetic modifications work?
3. Did you explain what role retro viruses play in this entire procedure?
4. How realistic is your experimental procedure compared to what a scientist would actually do in a lab?
5. Did you follow proper experimental guidelines to creating an experiment?
Conclusion
Poodles and Cats have a similiar enough genetic code that they are able to cross breed, which means that if the two different species were able to copulate, they would create glow in the dark poodle cat babies! However, if they were not able to copulate, then a scientist would have to genetically modify a poodle using the pigment gene present in cats and inserting it into a poodle embyro.
The end result would be a majestic poodle, which not only prances around with attitude, but now it also glows in the dark.
