Fight For Human Rights

Introduction

There have been what we consider human rights violations in the world since the beginning of recorded history. In the modern world, we have many organiztions that have been created to combat these crrimes. You will be in a three person team in which you create an organization to fight against one of these human rights violations.

Task

Using Microsoft Publisher, your group will create a pamphlet calling for the people to take action against these human abuses. Your pamphlet must include:

  • a specefic human rights violation
  1. Be sure that all background information is accurate and there.
  2. Include actual facts.
  • Actions that your group would encourage to end the violations. Inlcude the role:
  1. Citizens will play.
  2. National Government will play.
  3. United Nations will play.
Process

Your group should include:

  • chief researcher 
  • chief writer
  • chief publisher

The steps to follow are:

  1. Create a name for your organization. MAKE SURE ITS APPROPRIATE-remember the violation your group is fighting against. 
  2. Research the following websites and find information to be used in your pamphlet. Understand the situtation you are trying to stop. 
  3. Come up with possible solutions and actions to pitch to the previously mentioned people/groups.
  4. Research other violations that have been ended due to involvment from outside organizations to use as evidence and support.

Conclusion

Students will be aware of current examples of human rights violations. They will also understand the actions that individual citizens, governments, and international organizations may take to combat human rights violations. Students will also improve their ability to work together as part of a team.
