Introduction
When there is a sufficient amount of NADPH and ATP available in the stroma, the energy of these molecules can then be used to synthesize glucose; in presence or absence of light. This is able to occur due to a series of reactions called the Calvin-Benson Cycle. This cycle is a light-independent process in which photosynthetic organisms are able to "fix" carbon from the atmosphere in order to produce carbohydrates.
