It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown

Introduction

The peanuts gang plans to go trick or treating for Halloween, but one of them will be missing. Linus believes that the Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch, flies into the air, and then delivers presents to all of the boys and girls in the world. Linus is sitting there all night waiting for the Great Pumpkin to arrive. During this Web Quest you will check out all of the different stages in the Pumpkin Life Cycle. It will be your task to be able to correctly color, cut, and put the stages of the Pumpkin Life Cycle in order.

Process

After reading It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown as a class. We will dive into the stages of a Pumpkin Life cycle. The teacher will teach a lesson explaining the stages and going into detail of the stages. Then you will be put into 3 groups so you can rotate through 4 stations.

Station 1: This station will have pumpkins. Each student will be able to have their own pumpkin and they will be expected to close their eyes and feel the pumpkin while thinking about different characteristics they can feel but not see. The student will write down at least 6 characteristic of what they can feel. Example: curvy, bumpy, round, hard, and ect.  

Station 2: At this station students will be listening and singing along to the pumpkin life cycle song.

Station 3: At this station students will be able to use in class computers and play a carving game online.

Station 4: At this station students will be able to use in classroom Ipads to play a game that makes students move the stages of a pumpkins life cycle into the correct order.

Then after all stations have been completed, students will be given a worksheet. They will have to color the different stages, cut, and glue them down in order of the pumpkin life cycle. They must complete the worksheet and turn it in the teacher will grade based on the rubric. Link to the worksheet below!

Students will be able to correctly glue the stages of a pumpkins life cycle in the correct order without the teacher’s help.
