Introduction
The purpose of this Webquest is for you learn and present some information about a Romantic artist of your choice. Romanticism as a movement, not to be confused with Valentine's Day type of romance, was popular in the United States from 1800-1860.
Task
The first piece of the Webquest is to take a short quiz over an article explaining the difference between romance and Romanticism. The quiz is on Schoology so you'll need to log on to Schoology to complete it.
The second piece of the Webquest is to learn some information about a Romantic artist and share it in a brief, two slide power point.

After reading the article, take the short reading quiz on Schoology, located in the Romanticism folder.
Next, select an American Romantic poet, painter, author, or composer. Use the links below for lists of possible choices. Once you've selected an artist or writer, find out a little bit of information about him/her. You will create one power point slide with a brief description of his/her life. Your second slide will be a sample of that person's work, either an excerpt of a story or essay, a poem, a painting or a musical selection he has written.

Conclusion
After you have completed your quiz and power point you should have a basic understanding of Romanticism, the artistic and literary movement. Our next unit will be to read multiple pieces of Romantic literature and use our literary terms to evaluate the language used.
