Introduction

What is an invention? The answer is simple: an invention is an object, technique or process that is brand new for the society. Inventions play a very important role for the whole humankind as they help people to do different tasks. We can see them everywhere, our lives are full of them. What really essential is that inventions make our lives simplier and easier and due to them we save time and effort.

Can anybody name a great invention and its inventor?

Task

Work in pairs. Imagine you are inventors. You are to design an invention that will be useful in the nearest future. To accomplish this task you have different options: you can draw it on a poster, prepare a Powerpoint presentation or show a model of your invention. Then you should to present it to the class. Do not forget to mention the following:

  • The name
  • A price
  • The purpose of your invention
  • Who is it for
  • The reason of choosing that particular invention
  • A description of your invention (8 -10 sentences)
